An extraordinary dream to see a day when no one would be deprived of rights as basic as survival, participation, protection and development. We hated to see disparities between privileged and underprivileged section of our community, considering there were provisions available for the upliftment.
To reach to this dream there required a conscious effort to organize and implement a system meeting the needs of the community with respect and empathy. We felt that something needs to be done to improve the situation and to achieve this vision, in April 2018, Anfaal Foundation was conceived as a ‘movement’ and our qualities of resourcefulness and determination came in handy.
Islam influences every Muslim to give Sadqa to help the needy in order to protect the basic rights of the poor, at the same time encourages the rich to build a habit of donating from their wealth, consequently, maintain the equilibrium of the social cycle of the society.
While majority of the Muslims, in India, have a habit of donating Sadqa money directly to the poor or a beggar in the street, but one easily can find 25% of beggars are from the Muslim community and are living in the destitute condition.
Upon further analysis, the root cause of the issue determined was the lack of transparent and centralized system of collection and distribution of funds, and evil intentions of the begging syndicates. Beggars whom we usually see on the streets are generally professional, who have exploited the beautiful concept of Sadqa, therefore raising challenges for attainment of the goal of upliftment of the society and arrange assistance to reach to the true needy.
To bridge this gap and to achieve the scope of transparent and centralized system of Sadqa collection, and to make the distribution of funds efficiently and respectfully to the beneficiary; a revolutionary tagline "Channelizing the Charity" was added to this movement of Anfaal Foundation
